The intelligent PICO moisture probes are ideal for monitoring moisture, temperature, salinity, and electrical conductivity in soil and other porous materials. Our PICO sensors offer integrated sensing probes with built-in TDR evaluation electronics as a unique measurement solution for farmers, researchers, and field engineers.

Our PICO probes are based on TRIME® TDR technology to provide precise measurements of soil conductivity, moisture and temperature on a volumetric Basis. The probes determine the salinity in mg salt per liter of water for different soils at varying levels of moisture without complicated laboratory measurements.

TRIME® PICO soil moisture probes are offered in various configurations to meet different measurement requirements for applications such as agricultural monitoring, flood and drought studies, forest fire forecast, groundwater conditions, and other related environmental studies.

TRIME® PICO-32 Soil Moisture Probe is often used for volume limited applications, applications such as in topsoil, greenhouse, sports turf (golf, soccer), in parks, flower pots, scientific applications, in greenery on building facings and often to control irrigation or fertigation in agriculture. The application spectrum ranges from grown soil to artificial root ambience.

Whereas, TRIME® PICO-64 Soil Moisture Probe is a desired option for its mechanical durability and is often used in infrastructure projects. The option of a ruggedized probe body brings even more stability e.g. for permanent installation under railway tracks, highways and infrastructural buildings (bridges, harbors, etc.).

Lastly, the TRIME®PICO-IPH/T3 Soil Moisture Probe is an advanced portable measurement device for determining in-situ soil moisture profile. Profile measurements are possible in increments of 18 cm. The PICO-IPH/T3 is the ideal alternative to radioactive neutron probes and capacitive tube moisture probes in the market. Our PICO-IPH/T3 probes offers a measuring range of 0…60 vol.% moisture up to a depth of 3m at 18cm increments, and can be installed horizontally or vertically. The probe is designed for mobile field use and can be connected to a PICO-BT Blue tooth module or an external data logger or a PC for monitoring and data logging purposes. Determination of soil moisture profiles has several practical applications including but not limited to early flood warning, slope slide modeling, fog prediction for airports and highways, irrigation and farming, vadose zone water balance analysis, and many more.
