The Seztec’s SONO-SILO is an in-line process sensor suitable for installation inside containers, hoppers, silos, dryers and mixers. It is the perfect moisture sensor for measuring abrasive and highly conductive bulk materials in fresh concrete production.

The probe head consists of stainless steel with a rectangular ceramic window. These SONO probes calibrate themselves in the event of abrasion thanks to the innovative probe design packed with intelligent electronics. This consequently means minimum maintenance, longer service life, low ownership cost, while delivering precise moisture measurement readings for your production process.

Our SONO moisture sensors utilize patented TRIME® TDR technology whose measuring field penetrates deep into a large volume of material, resulting in highly accurate and repeatable moisture measurement values. Seztec’s moisture probes and over 20-years of expertise meet all your aggregate and fresh concrete measurement needs.

Interface Options:

All SONO probes are offered with a variety of standard industry outputs and communication protocols to meet every data transfer need. The measured parameters such as moisture content, the conductivity, and temperature, can either be transferred directly into a PLC via two analogue outputs 0(4)…20 mA or imported via an RS485 and IMP-Bus interface. In addition, SONO-probes can be directly connected to a local PC (USB port) via the SM-USB module or the field display – SONO-VIEW. This allows the customer to also adjust individual measuring parameters or conduct calibrations.

Typical Applications:

› Concrete production, including ready-mix and precast.
› Production of concrete goods with various aggregates.
› Pipe production or brick production.
› Fresh concrete, including steel fiber concrete.
› All conventional concretes, whether earth-moist or flowable, can be reliably measured.
› Installation inside containers, silos, hoppers, mixers .

Major Benefits:

› In case of abrasion at the probe head an automatic correction of the measuring value takes place – without recalibration.
› Precise dosage of water is possible thanks to the high accuracy of the moisture measurement.
› TRIME technology guarantees high reliability even with steam or changing particle sizes like sand and gravel.
› Extremely robust wear-resistant sensor head made of massive carbide tip and abrasion-resistant ceramic window
› Integrate with every common batching control system using analog output or communication protocols.
› Accurate real-time averaged moisture values (4Hz).
